Davidson Wrestling Camps
Davidson Wrestling Camp is designed for the introduction and development of wrestling technique, mat skills, and athletic coordination for elementary and middle school wrestlers. Throughout the course of the 5-day camp, wrestlers will be exposed to a variety of techniques in all areas of wrestling, including:
♦ Leg Attacks
♦ High Level Offense
♦ Front Headlocks
♦ Defense & Counter-Offense
♦ Throws, Trips, & Tricks
♦ Escapes & Reversal
♦ Pinning Combinations
In addition to technical instruction, Davidson Wrestling Camp will also provide wrestlers with daily training to improve athleticism and coordination. Each session will also include live wrestling, where wrestlers will be paired based upon approximate weight and experience.
Campers will enjoy lunch on campus at Vail Commons, as well as scheduled games and activities in between wrestling sessions. Davidson Wrestling Camp will be a fun, educational, motivational, and challenging experience.
Camp director and lead instructor, Andy Lausier is the Head Wrestling Coach at Davidson College. With 16 years of collegiate coaching experience, including 10 seasons at the Division I level, Coach Lausier has developed his own authentic system of teaching and training wrestlers. Current Davidson wrestlers will serve as counselors and assistant instructors.
Davidson Wrestling Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade/level and/or gender).
THE DAVIDSON WRESTLING CAMP IS A PRIVATELY RUN SPORTS CAMP, AND IS NOT OPERATED BY OR THROUGH DAVIDSON COLLEGE.
THE CAMP IS NOT SPONSORED, CONTROLLED, OR SUPERVISED BY DAVIDSON COLLEGE, BUT RATHER IS UNDER THE SOLE SPONSORSHIP AND SUPERVISION OF THE CAMP DIRECTOR, ANDY LAUSIER.
